Bob Palmerton

Bob specializes in painting landscapes with soft pastels. Among Bob’s many subjects, his favorites include farm and woodland scenes throughout Southeast Michigan, the beaches of his native New York, and the mountains, rocks and streams found on hiking excursions in the National Parks.

Bob began painting in oils in his early teens, and discovered pastel paintings shortly thereafter. He returned to pastel painting five years ago, and has been teaching landscape painting for two years. Bob obtains much of his inspiration for his paintings from his half-day biking excursions through Southeast Michigan, and on family hikes with his wife Mary and their three children, Sara, Matthew and Nicole.

Through his painting, Bob hopes that the beauty and drama of the landscape can inspire each of us to embrace the outdoors and to enjoy the continuous learning and small surprises that nature presents. Bob is a member of the Great Lakes Pastel Society. Bobs works have been displayed at various corporate offices including Pfizer, Keller Williams, and Online Technologies. Bob has also participated in the State Street (Ann Arbor) Art Fair, as well as art fairs in Plymouth, Brighton and Saline.
