Always wanted to sew, jump right in with this class. With a quick primer you will be sewing your own lounge pants with modern designer fabrics. The pants have wide legs and a drawstring waist with contrasting cuffs for a stylish comfortable design.

Oil Cloth Tote

Oilcloth is back! Create a fantastic carry-all tote that can withstand water. This tote is great for carrying your latest craft project or just some produce from the farmer's market. This is a great class for a beginner or an advanced sewer that wants to work with oilcloth. You will be delighted to use or give this tote as a gift.

Chalk Mats

Create two - 12" x 18" Chalkcloth™ playmats. These are great for entertaining children on the go and in restaurants. The mat will have a fun and bright oilcloth on one side and Chalkcloth™ on the other side to create great drawings in chalk, it is completely erasable and when not in use can simply be rolled up and stored in a car pocket or travel bag. This class welcomes beginning sewers as well as experienced.

Sashiko Embroidery

Try the art of traditional Japanese Sashiko Embroidery, it is a relaxing and meditative to stitch. The colors are simple navy fabric with white stitching to create bold geometric patterns. The sampler can then be turned into a pillow, bag or framed.

Baby Tube Sling

Great for the mom to be, from the first time around to the fourth! Create a wonderful and stylish baby sling that can be used as the child grows with little fuss. It gives the mom an easy, secure and hands free way to carry the baby.

Frou-Frou Fabric Book
Instructor: Anne Sheill
Create a distinctive art book. The fabric book is an accordion folded set of canvas/muslin pages; sheer fabric is then machine stitched onto the pages. Students will layer pages with color washes, fabric swatches, gesso, stamps and TEXT. Ink jet transfers, photos, ephemera, and bric-a-brac will be used to enhance the pages. Students will decide the theme for their book and will choose single words that define them, their goals, intentions, travels, etc...Cover is a patchwork quilt of fabrics of color and texture.

No Rules Screen Printing

Make your own prints, using non-traditional methods, with a silk screen. You'll find this fascinating. And you'll have the start of several spectacular art quilts. Come ready to be messy.

Silk Papermaking
Instructor: Michele Montour
Using Tussah "wild" silk and textile medium, participants will create sheets of silk paper. Once dried, these sheets can be stitched, used for collage, layering or embellishment.

What a Relief (Carving)!
Instructor: Kelsey Keyes
Create you own piece of bas relief art. This form of stone and plaster carvings was commonly used to adorn important buildings and monuments (both inside and out) in the ancient world. In this class we will give this old art form a modern twist. No marble or granite will be carved here. Each student will make their own bas relief based on a copy of a drawing, pattern or photograph. (Students are welcome to bring their own image to class.)

Free To Be Portrait Collage
Instructor: Holly Losee
Explore your wild side! You may have pink hair or green lips in a portrait collage. Start with a favorite photo and let the handmade papers inspire you. Students may work as small as 8 by 10 inches or as large as 11 by 14 inches. Embellishment encouraged. Fast and fun!

"The Coat" Woven Paper Collage

Celebrate spring! This piece, based on Joseph and his coat of many colors, brings to life the pure joy of those first warm days after a long winter. Students will weave and collage handmade papers to create a unique piece of art ready for framing. Finished size of collage 11 by 14 inches.
